No matter what faces us – it is vital to realize that there is a solution. A medical doctor, George S. Stevenson, wrote, “The solution may not give you everything you want.
Sometimes, it may give you nothing but a chance to start all over again. But whatever little it gives you is much more than you give yourself by letting your emotions tear you apart.”

I finally came to the conclusion, that if I didn’t want to quit, I certainly ought to want to, and that I was willing to do anything in the world to stop drinking. –Big Book/Alcoholic Number Three | More… (P.186)
We can wonder and worry our way into confusion; obsession or preoccupation it’s often called. The solution to any problem becomes apparent when we stop searching for it.

Inherent in every problem or challenge is its solution. Our greatest lesson in life may be to keep it simple, to know that no problem stands in our way because no solution eludes a quiet, expectant mind. –Each Day a New Beginning/Karen Casey | More…
The tremendous fact for every one of us is that we have discovered a common solution. –Big Book p.17 The most far-reaching Twelfth Step work was the publication of our Big Book, Alcoholics Anonymous.
Even if I haven’t been asked to sponsor and my phone rarely rings, I am still able to do Twelfth Step work. At meetings I show up early to greet people and to help set up, and to share my experience, strength and hope. I do what I can with service work.
My Higher Power gives me exactly what He wants me to do at any given point in my recovery and, if I let Him, my willingness will bring Twelfth Step work automatically. –Daily Reflections | More…
The tremendous fact for every one of us is that we have discovered a common solution. We who have found this solution to our alcoholic problem, we who are properly armed with the facts about ourselves, can generally win the entire confidence of another alcoholic.
We who are making the approach to new prospects have had the same difficulty they have had. We obviously know what we are talking about. Our whole deportment shouts at new prospects that we are people with a real answer. –24Hours | More…
