Experience shows the oldest to youngest honours the oldest best and takes the pressure off the youngest to. The practise is for starting with the longest sobriety and counting down to the newest. –Anon

An AA Countdown is a process through which the collective years of AA sobriety are identified. It begins with the most years of AA sobriety asking those to stand when their length of time is called.  (then they sit down)

Then the ‘count down’ continues through the decades, years and days. At the end, the person with the most amount of sobriety time of presents the “Big Book” of Alcoholics Anonymous to the person with the least amount of sobriety. Gratitude Roundup | More…
